Silver Jubilee Celebration at PAU Model High School, Kaoni: A Glorious Journey Unveiled

In a special event, Dr. Satbir Singh Gosal, the Vice-Chancellor of Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, embarked on an extensive tour of the PAU Model High School nestled in the heart of the Gidderbaha block of Muktsar Sahib district. He was accompanied by the officers of the university. This visit aligned with the grand celebration of the school’s 25 years of imparting quality education to the community.

In his remarks, Dr. S.S. Gosal lauded the school on its silver jubilee and praised the students for their unwavering dedication. He urged them to seize every learning opportunity, emphasizing the expansive nature of education beyond textbooks. The Vice-Chancellor assured the students and faculty of PAU’s support, encouraging them to utilize available resources for both academic and personal growth.

Dr. Gosal observed that the school’s association with PAU Ludhiana, offering two students direct admission to the B.Sc. in Agriculture 6-year program annually, testifies to the high caliber of education provided. He announced reservation of seats for this school’s students for two programmes in the College of Community Science. He also informed about the constitution of an award of Rs 10000 for the topper of class 10th of the school with the help of Khush Foundation at PAU. Stressing the importance of societal contribution, he instilled confidence in the students, urging them to rise and shine.

Dr. Rishi Pal Singh (IAS), Registrar, PAU, pointed out that education is not just about acquiring information; it involves developing a holistic understanding of the world, fostering creativity, and instilling values for life’s journey. He encouraged the students to dream big, work hard, and never cease to learn, emphasizing that the school’s foundation would serve as a solid base for their future endeavours.

The Dean of the College of Community Science at PAU, Dr. Kiran Bains, highlighted the school’s role as a beacon of knowledge and growth for young minds in the region. She underlined the institution’s commitment to nurturing students with knowledge, values, and skills that shape their futures.

Dr. Nirmal Jaura, Director Students’ Welfare, PAU, acknowledged the dedication of teachers, the enthusiasm of students, and the steadfast support of parents, crediting them as pillars for the school’s success. He appreciated the words of encouragement by the Vice-Chancellor which would galvanize the students towards excellence.

Mrs. Yadwinder Kaur, the school’s Principal, thanked the gathering and expressed her joy at the school’s journey since its establishment in 1998. She emphasized the school’s co-educational structure, spanning grades 1 to 10, and its use of English as the medium of instruction, providing a global perspective to students. Mrs. Kaur commended the faculty for their commitment to guiding students through the seas of education.

S. Navtej S. Kaoni, also spoke on the occasion and urged the parents to seek admission for their wards in schools of repute. He cited the case of many students of PAU Model School who have carved a niche for themselves in life. The parent members too communicated their observations.

Under the efficient management of PAU Ludhiana, the school has not only excelled academically but has also gained recognition in sports, particularly basketball, with many state-level awards. It’s playground has hosted various local tournaments, enriching the students’ holistic development. The library, a repository of knowledge, reflects the school’s dedication to holistic education. The students actively participate in co-curricular activities, including festivals, sports, excursions, expert lectures, counseling sessions, and initiatives like summer camps and plantation drives, fostering their full-spectrum progress.

The visit concluded with the touring team exploring the school’s building, infrastructure, and facilities. Students showcased their artistic talents through short cultural items,  academic achievers were awarded prizes and founder members were honoured, marking the event as a memorable celebration of learning, growth, and achievement.
