STUDENTS OF PAU MODEL HIGH SCHOOL, SRI MUKTSAR SAHIB VISIT LUDHIANA CAMPUS

As a part of an educational excursion, the students of PAU Model High School, Kaoni, accompanied by their parents and teachers, visited the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, in two batches of primary section and senior section. This school is the only school of PAU which is serving the rural areas of Sri Muktsar Sahib district of Punjab for the last 25 years. The school has made a significant contribution in imparting quality education to the rural children of the area. The purpose of the visit was to provide insight into PAU’s educational environment.

 On arrival, Dr Kiran Bains, Dean, College of Community Science, welcomed the students, parents and the teachers. The students were exposed to University’s rich history and educational prospects in PAU. They were excited to see the beautiful landscape and large playgrounds during the guided campus tour by the Communication Center, PAU. Students were also thrilled to visit the Museum of Rural Life of Punjab, and Dr Uppal Museum of Land and Water Resources. They were fascinated to visit Mohinder Singh Randhawa Library, Asia’s biggest library at PAU. The parents showed great satisfaction as this tour helped them to know about the University of global repute. Many school children shared that this visit created interest in higher education and that they will aspire to study in PAU after completing their schooling.
