SEVEN PAU AGRI-ENGINEER STUDENTS QUALIFY GATE EXAM

Seven students of Agricultural Engineering of the College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology (COAET), Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), have brought laurels to the College by qualifying the prestigious Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2024 with good All India Ranks (AIR). Mr Tarun Singla has etched history by clinching the prestigious seventh rank nationwide with a GATE score of 872. Besides, Mr Vasudev Kumawat, Ms Khushi Dhiman, Mr Rajwinder Singh, Mr Saurabh Bassi and Mr Vivek Kumar have also qualified the GATE exam with the All India Rank of 73, 78, 120, 182 and 189, respectively. Mr Akash Singh, a student of third year B. Tech., has also qualified the exam. The GATE examination is a gateway for engineering graduates to get admission into central institutes like IITs, ICT, IIS and NITIE with fellowships of Rs 12,400/- per month for their Master’s degrees.

Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU, commended the agri-engineers and lauded COAET for specifically focusing on preparing the candidates to achieve their professional goals.

Dr Manjeet Singh, Dean, College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, congratulated the candidates and shared that PAU agricultural engineers have been performing consistently for securing admissions in top ranked foreign universities including IITs and IIMs. He appreciated the efforts made by Dr Gurveer Kaur in guiding the students for appearing for the GATE.

Dr Satish Kumar Gupta, Incharge, Training and Placement, told that 12 students of B.Tech. final year have been placed in the companies like TAFE, John Deere, AMUL, Escorts, etc. through campus placement.
